We started our trip from Nome and I am very thankful we didn't have to ride in the back of the truck as we thought we would have to do. We had enough room for everyone in the cab. It was very cold and one of the participants did ride in the back. I saw him later thawing out in the chow hall. It was quite a trip seeing all the beach shacks. Apparently locals set up their operation for the summer. I would welcome anyone to give more information on this.
